Hamilton County Deputy Sheriff and Past Grand Knight, Craig Bodnar, along with Grand Knight David Flowers presented a $1,000 check to Abbey Markus of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. This donation was made possible by Brother Knight Mike Mayo, who made a sizeable cash donation to the council.
This donation caps off 6099’s Fraternal Year drive under the No Neighbor Left Behind initiative. Along with this cash donation which will provide 4,000 meals to families in need, 6099 gathered and delivered food donations on 4 separate occasions totaling 2,602 pounds of food which will provide 2,168 meals. That’s a total of over 2 1/4 tons of food delivered and 6,168 meals provided.
These past 12 months have been extremely challenging for us all. But 6099 rose to this challenge on the shoulders of PGK Craig Bodnar who engaged the Chattanooga Food Bank 13 months ago, spearheaded the drives, and delivered the food. Holy Family Council 6099, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, and this community sincerely thank Brother Craig for his tireless service to this community in so many ways. You are a shining example of a Knight of Columbus.
