This Fryday we’re conducting our last Fish Fry of the year. It’s been a great run and great to see all of the St. Stephen Parishioners who have so generously supported our efforts during Lent. It seems a bit of normalcy is starting to creep back into our lives and it’s been a true blessing.
Last week, Walt made a great showing with his world-famous Seafood Gumbo, but alas, the Grand Knight’s Clam Chowder still reigns supreme for the soup crown this season. But, in the last 2 minutes of the Souper Bowl, from deep on the bench, Past Grand Knight Deputy Sheriff Craig Bodnar has run onto the field and promises to unseat the Grand Knight with an Old-World Tomato Basil soup handed down through the family for generations.
Can PGK Craig punch it over the goal line in the last seconds or will the Grand Knight’s Chowder make a successful goal-line stand? Craig must sell 55 soups to take the crown.
As always, the made-from-scratch meal includes fried fish, potato salad, cole slaw, hush puppies, and tarter sauce for only $6 an a 16oz soup goes for only $3.
Help us continue a successful season and break the records this week. Our best week has been 84 meals with 55 soups sold. We’d love to be able to serve 100 meals this week. Please consider stopping by the Hall from 4pm – 7pm and help your Knights support our Parish.
Thanks to the Grand Knight, Walt Vamprine, and Craig Bodnar who have all donated their soups for the cause, helping to raise funds and interject some fun this season. We have had a blast this year seeing you all and hope to see you all and more one more time this year.
